The Oakey Solar Farm 2 is a 55MW farm located in Oakey in the Darling Downs Region in Queensland, approximately 160 kilometres west of Brisbane & 30km North West of Toowoomba,

Combined with Oakey Solar, the 80MW of capacity is expected to generate around 138,800MWh a year; enough to power the equivalent of 24,000 Queensland homes. The solar farms are owned by UK-based Foresight Group.

Oakey 2 was damaged by its second storm in 14th months in January 2020 which affected approximately 15% of the site and further delaying commissioning works. The system installed on site was Soltech.

TradeConnex provided over 90 workers to the Oakey Solar Farm through labour hire for all the mechanical rectification work. We provided the client with solar labourers, leading hands, excavator operators, skid steer operators, telehandler operators and quality assurance teams.

We also provided vehicles for on-site transportation of workers.
